Rather said he "believed" his network's report a week ago that the White House received a CIA briefing before 9-11 on possible hijackings prompted the administration to issue the alert for political damage control. "I can believe the president and the people around him were surprised and peeved, to say the least," he contended, "that the information got out last week with [CBS's] report that President Bush had been briefed about some things that, in retrospect, would indicate that, well, maybe somebody should have done something. "And I can also believe that, as with every president, somebody's in the White House scratching their heads saying, 'How can we change the subject.' Now, the subject’s been changed, suddenly and very effectively, from 'How is it the FBI and CIA didn't move on the information? Where was the president briefed about what, when?' to suddenly one administration official after another, and each escalating it, [issuing] a new set of warnings." The CBS anchor said he doubted the confluence of events was coincidental: "Surely the people in the administration could forgive us for perhaps thinking, well, perhaps there's some connection here. We're on some kind of alert because somebody heard something that somebody may blow something up. But, as a citizen, what are we supposed to do with that information?" Rather also defended Democrat calls for a 9-11 investigation into the Bush White House, saying: "We're not interested in just looking in the rearview mirror so we can nail somebody.. But this is pretty important stuff. Given the stories about intelligence failures that we’ve already heard about, who can argue we don't need some kind of commission, led by professionals, that goes into how the situation with al-Qaida was handled before Sept. 11, what mistakes were made and what we can learn from that. "That's not playing partisan politics. That's trying to get information that can help us all in the future." The CBS newsman also accused Attorney General John Ashcroft of taking advantage of insider information about terrorist warnings to fly on private jets, while the public was kept in the dark about the secret alert, telling Imus: "If the attorney general is given information that convinces him, 'Hey, I don't want to be on any commercial airliners just now. I'm gonna take government planes everywhere.' If the attorney general was told that ... then it raises a question. Why wasn't the public alerted? The relative convergence of Terence McKenna's "End-Date" and the end of the Mayan Calendar, might be more than just "interesting." It might very well be mind-shattering. Put these two achievements together (as they will be, nothing is more certain!) and you have the following very possible, even inevitable, scenario: SAT DEC 21, 2012 (OR SO!!) - WoMankind witnesses, worldwide, the FIRST cute cloned little cyborg with a micro-chip sized supercomputer neurally implanted, named (probably) R2D2 or something. It’s been one of Womankind’s dreams to create smart robots, and now to create cloned humans. Also here is a little news on location in Argentina, where, contrary to what the UK monolith would have us believe, the people on the whole are a super friendly shanti bunch who go out of their way to be helpful despite the tragedy that is their financial situation!
